Privacy isn’t a feature we bolted on — it’s the reason IntelliWallet exists. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens (and what doesn’t happen) to your data.

The short version

  • We do not run any servers for IntelliWallet, and the app does not create an account for you.
  • Everything you store in the app — passwords, notes, cards, anything — stays encrypted on your own device.
  • We do not see it, collect it, sell it, or transmit it anywhere. There is nothing to leak, because there is nothing sent.
  • This website does not use tracking cookies or analytics either.

What IntelliWallet stores, and where

Everything you enter into IntelliWallet — item names, fields, notes, folders — is encrypted and saved in a local database on your device. Access to that data requires your master password, which only you know. Your master password is used locally to unlock your vault; it is never sent anywhere, never stored on any server (there isn’t one), and never known to us.

If you forget your master password, nobody — including IntelliSoftAlpin eG — can recover your data. That is a deliberate consequence of real encryption, not an oversight, and it’s explained in more detail in the FAQ.

Information we collect

We collect no personal data through the app itself. IntelliWallet makes no network calls related to your vault content — no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no telemetry of any kind is embedded in the app.

Two narrow exceptions, both outside of the app itself:

  • If you email us (e.g. support@intelliwallet.io) or use a contact form, we obviously see the email address and content you send us, so we can reply. We use it only to answer you.
  • Apple and Google may collect anonymous, OS-level diagnostics (such as crash logs) when you use any app on their platforms, governed by their own privacy policies. This happens outside of IntelliWallet’s code and outside of our control or visibility.

Optional cloud backup

IntelliWallet can optionally include your encrypted wallet file in your phone’s normal system backup (iCloud on iOS, Google Drive/Android Auto Backup on Android). This is off by default and only happens if you explicitly turn it on in Settings. Even then:

  • The file remains encrypted with your master password.
  • It is stored under your own Apple or Google account, governed by their terms — not ours.
  • We have no access to it, whether the setting is on or off.

Your responsibilities

You choose your master password when you first set up IntelliWallet — make it strong, and make sure you’ll remember it (or store it somewhere safe you control). Anyone who has both your unlocked device and your master password can see your data, so treat your master password the way you’d treat a house key: never share it, and never let anyone talk you into revealing it, including anyone claiming to be from our support team. We will never ask for it.

If your device supports biometric unlock (Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint), you can use it for convenience — it’s a faster way to unlock a session that’s already protected by your master password, not a replacement for one.

Data portability and deletion

You can export your data at any time — as an encrypted backup file for use with IntelliWallet on another device, or (on Premium) as PDF, CSV, JSON or XML for your own records. You can delete everything IntelliWallet has stored simply by deleting the app, or by using the in-app delete/reset options.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally and will note the revision date at the top. Material changes will also be mentioned in the app’s release notes.
